Our beautiful beach house consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sleeping 6 guests comfortably. Our guests love the attention to detail, wonderful artwork, fully equipped kitchen, and the classy style we have infused throughout our luxury kangaroo island accommodation.
Alchemy's stunning ocean views, creature comforts, and ideal location makes it a perfect space for a fabulous holiday. The expansive north facing deck is the perfect gathering place to relax, share stories and endulge in local kangaroo island offerings. If you like a change of scenery the southern deck has a completely different feel, surrounded by native flora and often fauna. With direct beach access... a 50 step stroll down the sandy path leads you through a tunnel of native vegetation opening up to the crystal clear water of Island Beach. Wildlife abounds with resident Tammar Wallabies, Kangaroos, Koalas, Echidnas, Rosenberg's goannas, Pelicans and many unique bird species such as Oyster Catchers, Glossy Black Cockatoos, and the endangered Hooded Plovers. Bottle Nosed Dolphins cruise past close to the shoreline daily.
Being centrally located gives you easy access to explore Kangaroo Island's fabulous natural sites, beautiful food and wine, sandboarding, quad biking, fishing, or swimming with dolphins!

After a hard day of eating and drinking, we retired to a little piece of Australian heaven: a beach house called Alchemy. The kitchen, dining area and living room are open plan. An entire wall of glass looks out on a pristine beach. The light shades of blue turn progressively darker as the water gets deeper. I immediately think of Djavan”s song, “Bird of Paradise” about a lover sailing to his sweetheart.
“In the bay I drop the anchor down
Swim ashore...
Your silent eyes convince me we’re safe inside this azure blue lagoon
I want to know you. Bird of Paradise.”
Why leave? Why hit golf balls at rowboats? Why contemplate the complexity of a shiraz? Sitting on the deck at Alchemy is almost like a meditative state, an artist’s study in blue.

Alchemy is a wonderful and well equipped beachfront property conveniently located between Penneshaw and Kingscote. Direct beach access provides a very relaxing location for families with kids. The kids loved swimming and we enjoyed the long, beautiful beach walks, and the cosy easy evenings with the slow combustion fire. Easy drives to a number of KI attractions is also a feature. Thank you Lori for a wonderful stay, we definately want to come back!
